We went the other way
Most baby shops online will sell you anything that ships. If it fits in a box and has "baby" in the listing, it goes live. We built our little shop on the opposite idea: fewer products, chosen slowly, by someone who actually opened the box first.
Every product earns its place
Before anything appears here, a sample lands at our home. It gets used the way you'd use it. Washed on the wrong setting. Dropped on tile. Zipped and unzipped a hundred times, because that's what week three with a newborn looks like. We check the supplier's paperwork too, not just the photos.
If a product disappoints — flimsy stitching, a zip that gives up, colors that fade — it never goes live. No exceptions, no "it'll probably be fine." You can watch the testing happen on our socials; we post photos and videos as we go.
What we refuse to sell — on purpose
Some categories are off the table here, permanently:
- Pacifiers, teethers, and anything that goes in a baby's mouth. These need accredited lab testing, and cheap imports fake those certificates often enough that we won't touch the category.
- Sleep nests, positioners, and weighted swaddles. Same problem — the certification that matters is exactly the paperwork that gets forged, so we simply don't sell them.
- Car seats. Proper crash testing is not something we can verify from a supplier PDF, and we're not willing to gamble on it.
- Baby monitors. Certified electronics are the whole point of a monitor, and that's beyond what we can personally confirm.
- Bath seats. These need lab-verified certification too, and "probably genuine" isn't a standard we'll accept.
We're not saying every product in these categories is bad. We're saying we can't personally stand behind them, so they don't belong in our shop. Our catalog is small because our standards aren't.
What that means for what you see here
Everything in this shop is something a parent operates: a tool for your hands, an organizer for the chaos, decor for the nursery, a keepsake for the milestones. These are the categories where good design matters more than lab reports — and where we can test every claim ourselves, at our own kitchen table.
Where a certification is documented for a specific product, we say so on that product's page, and we keep the paperwork on file. If it isn't stated, we're not claiming it. Simple as that.
